Don Bosco FC Begins the Third Division League with a Goal to Rise Higher

By Cyprien NIYOMWUNGERI

This Saturday, November 2, 2024, Don Bosco FC from IFAK Don Bosco Kimihurura will kick off its third-division championship games, aiming to advance to the second division while continuing to develop young football talent.

The team is coached by Tuyisenge Pekeyake, known as “Pekinho,” who is the famous in Rwandan football and has even represented the national team, the “Amavubi.”

Coach Pekinho mentioned that the team is in good shape and well-prepared for the season, ready to perform well in their group and push for promotion.

“We have prepared for this season thoroughly; we’ve been training for a while and have played friendly matches with second-division teams like Sina Gerard FC, Motard FC, and City Boy, among others, so our players are in excellent form. Our goal for the tournament is to promote to the second division.”

Don Bosco FC is part of the Kigali-Bugesera League and competes in a group with four other teams: Nyamata Stars, Rapide FC, Skyline from Bugesera, and Guepards from Gikondo.

Originating from the Salesian philosophy, Don Bosco FC not only focuses on sports but also aims to inspire young people to embrace faith and build moral values. This aligns with the mission of the Salesian community, which was established by Don Bosco himself, to promote positive social values through sports, encouraging youth to become good Christians and honest citizens.
