Today, the Ordinary Level finalists (O’ Level) at IFAK (Institut de Formation Apostolique de Kimihurura) began weekly tests with the aim of sharpening their skills and abilities in preparing for the national examinations efficiently.
The Dean of Studies at IFAK, Isaïe Mwizerwa, has explained that teachers prepare weekly tests for students of senior three and six in order to help them become familiar with the national exams.
The tests are done every Monday and Friday for senior three students and on Monday for senior six students.
Mwizerwa emphasizes that those tests are set as the National Exams, where teachers prepare them by referring to the topics they taught within three years. If it is senior three, the tests should cover all the necessary topics from senior one.
“This helps students become familiar with the national exams and the time for doing those exams (three hours). Because those tests are set referring to the national exams, the students get abilities to succeed”. Mwizerwa said.
The marks of the tests are recorded on the school report. Since last year, the marks have been proclaimed alone and arranged accordingly.
“After starting these tests, the results are positive, especially for last year, and we hope this year and the following years will be better”. Mwizerwa added.
